At a wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, two orphaned baby elephants — Moyo and Lulu — are forming an extraordinary friendship.
When Lulu injured her leg during a play session, keepers brought her to the treatment area. Moyo, her closest companion, refused to be separated.
As veterinarians carefully cleaned Lulu’s wound, Moyo reached out her trunk, gently wrapping it around Lulu’s back — holding it there throughout the entire treatment.
One sanctuary worker captured the moment on video. The clip went viral with millions of views:
“We don’t deserve elephants.”
“Pure empathy and friendship.”
Sanctuary staff said that after the treatment, Moyo continued to comfort Lulu — standing close, touching her with her trunk, and even bringing her branches of leaves.
At AmazedInk, we believe these moments remind us of the deep emotions animals feel — and the simple ways they show love, comfort, and friendship.
